Winter Dreams

Life hides in slumber,
awaiting the time forthcoming --
Awaken in rebirth
Trees stealing glimpses
of unclothed friends around them --
soon a new wardrobe
Tulips snuggle below
yearning for winter's demise --
Chorus of Color
replace winter's monochrome
with luminous shades of spring
Frozen sky of grey --
Sun peaking in from afar
awaits spring's solstice
The bite of winter
gnaws through my coat, numbs my limbs --
Your warmth revives me
I wrote this series of haiku and verse last winter but after being inspired by Barbara O'Brien's blog, I thought it would be nice to share with a new audience.
